Information for Prospective Students

Interested in a Masters or Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering? Want to apply your research to real clinical data and see how your work can benefit real patients? Here's how you can:

The Departments of Radiology and Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of British Columbia (UBC) invite applications from potential graduate students with a strong technical background (e.g., computer science or engineering) who intend to pursue a Masters or Doctoral level degree in the area of medical imaging. The successful candidate will enroll in UBC's innovative and interdisciplinary Biomedical Engineering Program, which emphasizes a balance of biomedical engineering and life science study with a focus on clinical and industrial application. Although many projects are available, it is anticipated that students enrolling within the next year will primarily work on software algorithms for the quantitative analysis of magnetic resonance images (MRIs) of patients with neurological disorders, such as multiple sclerosis. Full funding is available to those who qualify academically, with top-ups available for scholarship holders.
